Rain Storm

We had another day dedicated  to showing how our bodies can be  used to create music. We started off  the class by going around the room and each student made a noise with their bodies- some quacked like ducks, some  snapped, but by  the end we had 28-ish unique sounds each student had come up with. Then, we picked 5 of those sounds as a class and came up with a symbol to represent them. Using the symbols, they  were  able  to write out their own little composition of sounds. The entitled  their masterpiece "The Pink Fluffy Bandits." After they had a chance to make their own class composition, I had them get into a circle and use  body percussion to create a rainstorm. It was so convincing, that we had a teacher from another classroom come to figure out how we were making it rain in our class. The  students loved this activity!
